The following issues were reported by state and local governments responsible for inspecting hotels and/or food service establishments. In some cases, there is an indication that the reported violation was corrected by the time of a follow-up inspection; in other cases, no information was available as to whether a follow-up inspection was conducted. - During a routine inspection of the Marriott Columbia on August 16, 2018, an inspector from the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control observed “Build up on wall of walk in cooler and accumulated debris underneath shelving.”
- During a routine inspection of the Marriott Columbia on October 2, 2017, the inspector observed: “Bottom of reach in coolers have food debris build up.” “Walls in dishwashing area have peeling finish and paint.” “Walls behind faucet in dish area has severe black grime buildup and rust.”
- During a routine inspection of the Marriott Columbia on September 29, 2016, the inspector observed “TCS (Temperature Control for Safety) foods not being maintained at 41 f or below. Corrected. Reach in cooler next to range: shrimp 51 f, beef- 52 f.”
- During a routine inspection of the Marriott Columbia on June 7, 2016, the inspector observed “Ice machine has buildup of biofilms. Corrected.” “Mop sink and surrounding wall has buildup of biofilms.”
