Issues

The following issues were reported by state and local governments responsible for inspecting hotels and/or food service establishments. In some cases, there is an indication that the reported violation was corrected by the time of a follow-up inspection; in other cases, no information was available as to whether a follow-up inspection was conducted. Accordingly, this blog should be understood to describe circumstances that existed on the date of the referenced inspection only.   • During a routine inspection of the Marriott East Lansing at University Place on April 11, 2019, an Ingham County Environmental health inspector “observed raw steak/beef stored over raw shrimp and salmon.” This violation was found to have been corrected upon reinspection on May 10, 2019.
  • During a routine inspection of the Marriott East Lansing at University Place on April 11, 2019, an Ingham County Environmental health inspector “observed various foods holding at 47-51 degrees F in the 1st floor bar refrigerator at time of inspection.” This violation was found to have been corrected upon reinspection on May 10, 2019.
  • During a routine inspection of the Marriott East Lansing at University Place on April 11, 2019, an Ingham County Environmental health inspector “observed milk gallon in under bar cooler dated for use by 4/7/2019 at time of inspection.” This violation was found to have been corrected upon reinspection on May 10, 2019.
  • During routine inspections of the Marriott East Lansing at University Place between January 6, 2016 and April 11, 2019, an Ingham County Environmental health inspector observed equipment in poor repair. On April 11, 2019, the inspector “observed 1st floor bar refrigerator operating between 47-60 degrees F with thermometer stating 70 degrees F. Flip top cooler in kitchen behind range stove observed in poor repair with poor functionality at time of inspection.” On August 4, 2016 and January 6, 2016, the inspector observed “The Raetone reach-in cooler #14 has a leak and/or drainage problem as there was standing water on the bottom shelf.”
  • During routine inspections of the Marriott East Lansing at University Place between October 10, 2013 and August 25, 2017, an Ingham County Environmental health inspector observed issues with automatic dishwashing machines properly sanitizing dishes, requiring that these be corrected (8/25/2017, 8/18/2017, 11/24/2014 and 10/10/2013).
