Issues

The following issues were reported by state and local governments responsible for inspecting hotels and/or food service establishments. In some cases, there is an indication that the reported violation was corrected by the time of a follow-up inspection; in other cases, no information was available as to whether a follow-up inspection was conducted. Accordingly, this blog should be understood to describe circumstances that existed on the date of the referenced inspection only.   • During routine inspections of the Marriott Marketplace at the Marriott Myrtle Beach Resort & Spa at Grande Dunes between June 21, 2016 and January 17, 2019, inspectors from the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control observed temperature control violations on four separate occasions (1.17.2019, 6.1.2018, 11.6.2017 and 3.14.2017).
  • During routine inspections of the Marriott Myrtle Beach Resort & Spa at Grande Dunes between October 26, 2016 and June 13, 2018, inspectors observed temperature control issues during on six inspections (6.13.2018, 6.4.2018, 11.17.2017, 11.7.2017, 4.10.2017 and 10.26.2016).
  • During routine inspections of the Ocean Watch Kiosk at the Marriott Myrtle Beach Resort & Spa at Grande Dunes between April 18, 2017 and September 7, 2018, inspectors observed temperature control violations on five different occasions (7.2018, 8.30.2018, 8.24.2018, 5.2.2017 and 4.18.2017).
  • During routine inspections of the Ocean Watch Kiosk at the Marriott Myrtle Beach Resort & Spa at Grande Dunes between August 24, 2018 and September 7, 2018, inspectors observed on three separate occasions that “3 compartment sink leaking” (9.7.2018, 8.30.2018 and 8.24.2018).
  • During routine inspections of the Ocean Watch Kiosk at the Marriott Myrtle Beach Resort & Spa at Grande Dunes between April 18, 2017 and August 24, 2018, inspectors observed on three different occasions that floors had grease or buildup and needed to be cleaned more frequently (8.24.2018, 4.2.2018 and 4.18.2017).
  • During a routine inspection of the Marriott Myrtle Beach Resort & Spa at Grande Dunes Pool Bar on June 4, 2018, the inspector observed “Mildew build up in ice machine.”
  • During routine inspections of the Marriott Myrtle Beach Resort & Spa at Grande Dunes Pool Bar between November 7, 2017 and December 6, 2017, inspectors observed on three occasions that “Leg broken on cooler. Pieces of wood being used to hold cooler up.” (12.6.2017, 11.17.2017 and 11.7.2017)
  • During routine inspections of the Marriott Myrtle Beach Resort & Spa at Grande Dunes Pool Bar between April 10, 2017 and December 6, 2017, inspectors observed on four separate occasions that “Cove base in poor repair.” (12.6.2017, 11.17.2017, 11.7.2017 and 4.10.2017)
